At 5pm today we responded to the area around Rocky Mountain Middle School to help locate a 5 year-old child who went missing. He was located safe at about 5:30.
At 6:18pm we responded to the hills east of Ammon to assist with the evacuation of homes due to a fire burning near the Blackhawk Estates.
At 12:24pm we were called out to the Porcupine Creek in the Fall Creek area to assist an injured ATV rider. We were cancelled 20 minutes later before getting on scene.
At 17:15pm we were called to join the search for an 85 year old woman who left her care facility. About 15 SAR members responded and searched the area near Sandy Downs. The lady has not yet been located, so the search will resume in the morning.
At 12:30am we were called to the area of US 20 and 15th East in Idaho Falls to join in the search for 19 year-old Chase Johnson who had left home earlier in the day. Teams searched the surrounding areas and he was located about 8am. Idaho Falls PD, Idaho Falls FD, Idaho State Police, and Life Flight from Rexburg participated in the search as well.
On Sunday evening we were called to search for a pair of overdue snowmobilers who were riding near the Jack Knife area of eastern Bonneville County. Teams from Bonneville and Lincoln County Wyoming search Sunday night and Monday morning. A helicopter from Teton Wyoming located the individuals and guided them back to Mccoy Creek.
At 6pm on 10/15 we responded to a plane that had crashed in the mountains around Palisades Reservoir near Sheep Creek. A juvenile female was air lifted to EIRMC and the male pilot was pronounced dead on scene. We will be returning tomorrow to recover his body.
On 10/6 at 3:26am, we received a report of a 34 year old hunter lost near Fogg Hill. Teams dispatched and made contact with the individual who was OK and declined any further assistance.
We responded to Bitter Creek near Mccoy Creek for a hunter who had not returned to camp the previous night. About 12 personnel responded with ATVs and motorcycles. A few hours after deploying, the subject returned to camp. He had spent the night on the mountain and walked out during daylight.
Team members spent Saturday and Sunday in Blaine County assisting in the effort to locate Luke Richardson who has been missing since last weekend while hiking in the Sawtooths. He has not yet been found.
